Inside Cleans Up At BAFTA Game Awards

Gaming eyes were on London as the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Games Awards were presented for, “the very best in games of the past year”.  The nominees for the various awards were a mixed bag from last year of indie darlings such as Firewatch and Inside as well as triple-A titles such as Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End and Overwatch.  The big winner of the evening had to be Danish indie studio Playdead’s Inside which landed 4 awards for the evening. Previously known for the critically acclaimed Limbo, Playdead’s Inside won awards for Artistic Achievement, Game Design, Narrative, and Original Property.

Another indie title, Firewatch, also had quite a night taking home two awards for Cissy Jones portrayal of Delilah and for Debut Game which must have made new studio Campo Santa Productions very happy. Perhaps the most prestigious award, Best Game, went to Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End.  This marks the fifth time Nathan Drake and the Uncharted franchise have taken home BAFTA awards with the previous four being awarded to Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
