The Anderson Cooper Book ‘Vanderbilt’ is Being Developed Into a Series
The book Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty by Anderson Cooper and Katherine Howe is getting a UCP series adaptation. Patrick Macmanus, who was the showrunner for Dr. Death and co-created The Girl from Plainville, will write and executive produce it. Anderson Cooper and Kelly Funke, through Littleton Road, will be executive producers for the Vanderbilt series. The book details generations of his family and their many trials and tribulations. Cooper has made his career being a broadcast journalist and political commentator. Littleton Road prides itself on raising social issues with the series it produces, but it’s not clear what cause this series supports. The broadcast journalist will be hands-on for this UCP adaptation series that will explore his mother’s side of the family. Cooper has expressed his eagerness to work with UCP and Patrick Macmanus “to help bring their stories to life.”
The Broadcast Journalist Will Have His Family’s Life On Screen in a Whole New Way
Long before being a broadcast journalist, he interned for the Central Intelligence Agency while studying political science. Once he graduated from college, he got an entry-level for ABC answering the telephone. He then went on to be a fact-checker for Channel One. He went to the University of Hanoi to study Vietnamese. The broadcast journalist went on to work for ABC and CNN and remained a 60 Minutes correspondent. The book Vanderbilt: The Rise and Fall of an American Dynasty that Anderson Cooper co-authored was published in 2021. It became a New York Times Bestseller. UCP is adapting the book and bringing it to life. Neither Anderson Cooper nor Patrick Macmanus has released details about the script for the UCP series adaptation of Vanderbilt. No doubt Cooper will ensure the facts are right for the series before it begins production.
