The Next Arrowverse Crossover Release Date and Details
The CW has announced the dates for the latest major Arrowverse crossover, slated for this November. Unlike the previous episodes though, the events will be crammed into a two-night span.
This year’s crossover will begin November 27, 2017, with Supergirl, then followed by Arrow, which will be moving to Monday night from its usual Thursday time slot for the four-part story. The crossover will wrap up on Tuesday, with The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed this information earlier this week during the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“Last year’s crossover was the most successful week, I believe, in CW history,” Pedowitz said. “We felt that in this particular case we already had ‘Flash’ and ‘Legends’ paired. It would be better and tighter to do it like a two, two-hour mini series.”
The CW President also stated this year’s iteration is “a full, four-episode crossover.” While last years invasion storyline did see the four shows join for the first time, only three of the episodes featured the arch, as Supergirls was more a preview than an actual inclusion.
The cast for the crossover is shaping up to be an interesting one, as information has been coming in regarding newcomers and returning stars for each series ever since Comic Con San Diego. Former Lost actor Michael Emerson will be joining Arrow, while notorious tough guy Danny Trejo is heading to The Flash. The crossovers will see the return of Neal McDonough, Wentworth Miller, and Arthur Darvill to Legends of Tomorrow (the more Captain Cold, the better).
Arrowverse crossover episodes are always fun, but it should be noted that most of they don’t tend to alter much in regards to each individual show’s storyline, aside from small tidbits like Evil Barry’s communication.
